PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

I believe that I am pretty much done with everything and therefore I can start panning my schedule. Putting all my dates and times together for my music video filming.

I would like to get my projection images done first, which means that I will have to borrow a projector from the arts department. Thursday, 3rd November would be a good day to get it done as we have academic tutoring day. This means that I can pick the projector up in the morning and complete these images one the day, as we only have to come in to 6th form for 5/10 minutes.

DATE: 03/11/2011
LOCATION: My house (A plain white wall)
TIME: 10:00am - 12:00pm/13:00pm
PROPS: A projector/make-up/a white dress/digital camera/tripod/transparent paper with the images printed
CAST: Me as the artist and an extra person to take images. (I believe that the only person that will be free at this time is my mum)

QUESTIONNAIRE FEEDBACK

As I have finished my questionnaire I have given it out to an equal amount of people, female and male. This I have done due to the genre of the song fitting into both genders of people, equally. As I got the completed questionnaires together I have been pleased by the results being mostly positive and people willing to give me their ideas as well as being honest. As I have asked them what makes a music video good most of the people have mentioned good visuals. And this is what I am going to aim for. As one of the questions was about favorite music videos the talks went to original and unique ideas, this has made me think of how I could make my ideas wiser and unique by using my editing techniques. Speaking of ideas, 100% people have replied positive towards the props fitting in with my ideas for the music video. I was also please with the fact that 50% people have thought that my music video/song is in the genre of experimental, basing everything from reading my ideas for the video. This means that I am on the right track within my ideas. As the questioning has moved on to location, 50% have agreed a forest being the case of freedom, the other 50% have classes a fiel as a case of freedom. I believe that this lets me know that my idea of using the woods to represent the freedom is looking to be successful. I believe that a forest would be more free due to the trees being green/colorful as this sets the modd for happiness. I was very happy about more than half of the people in question believing that a broken mirror is a way of getting away from yourself as I believe that the shots including the broken mirror would be a very effective and strong ending. The most interesting part of the questionnaire is the ideas given across by the people in question. This is because it lets me clear my mind if I get stuck on ideas. also if I use the techniques of the audience I know that these ideas used will please the audience due to them suggesting this idea. Overall I was very pleased with the answers given as it hasn't bought my hopes down very much.

QUESTIONNAIRE FEEDBACK

28 OCTOBER, Journal

Today I have gathered all of my questionnaires, which have been completed by eight people. An equal amount for both male and female. This I thought would be fair as experimental music is for both genders. My next step is to make pie charts for most of the questions, to see the feedback on my music video ideas all together.

DIGIPAC DRAFT

As I was happy with my very first draft made I have decided that I am going to stick to this one. I believe that the darkness and the experimental images fit in well with the genre (experimental/electronic)

This is the front cover of my Digipac. I have decided that I want to use a dark atmosphered image, to represent the genre. Also, I want it to be of the artist so the audience can recognize the album straight away.
I have gained inspiration from SAGMEISTER, and would like to cut out the face using detail and having the original image behind it. This I could class as experimental as I have not seen any album covers like that.

Inside left (the inside panel of the front panel). I have decided to include an image of the forest from my music video as soon as the viewer opens the digipac due to the front cover being dark and moody. This would give of a different side of the artist. As the front cover had cutouts on it, this leaves the forest with cutouts in the middle. I believe that this works well as it shows the image being incomplete, which could represent the artist and the genre of the music.

Interior flap. This is the same image as the front cover, however, it is complete due to it not being cutout. The whole idea of this image being the interior flap is so the front covers cutouts fit within the image and show  the incomplete artist her self.

Inside center (the inside panel o the back panel). On this panel I would like to include a booklet with the lyrics of the songs. This will let the audience join in while listening to this album. I have decided to use an image of the artist falling, as the booklet opens up, if you tip it upside down the booklet will fall open, and therefore it fits well with the image.

Inside right (the inside panel of the interior flap) This is where the CD clear-tray sit. I have came up with the background behind the tray being a mirror. This is because it fits in with the main song 'Fall foliage'. I want to use a mirror where the CD is, as the CD is everything about the artist, and the one object that represents the artist in the best way. The CD should include an image of the artist laying down on a mirror which will fit in with the background as well as the message/reason for the mirror being used at this particular place.

Back. My idea for the back is rather unique, I want the names of the songs being projected onto a wall. This idea has also came from my music video, due to it representing the feelings of the artist. I also want to include the artist within the image, to once again remind the audience of the artist. The look of the artist may also represent the music/songs within this album. The spine is also visible within this image, I want the name of the artist to be included on the spine, reminding/letting the audience know the name of the artist. The bar code has been placed at the bottom, keeping the whole focus on the song names and the artist itself.

21st October, JOURNAL

In todays lesson I have completed my digipak draft. I have chosen to challenge myself and do a 6 sided one. I also believe that the more there is to unfold the more interesting it is, and is more likely to make the audience pick it up and have a glance at it.

NEW LOGO

So, here we go again..

I have been asking people what they think of my chosen logo, and most of them cannot read it. So I have came up with a new logo, representing my artist.

I have decided to include an image of a lonely girl swinging. This represents the artist being upset and unhappy. I believe that this goes well with the typography as it pretty mysterious due to the lines and the detail. I also find it quite classy and mature as it looks hand written. The image fits within the name of the artist, as people holding a grudge on somebody feel upset/angry/lonely. I also like the fact of it being rather simple, which lets the audience understand what it is about.

STORY BOARDING

I have finally finished my story boarding. I have decided to put into a video to see how it will go, and look. Not all of it is in timing, so it does not look great, also, the cross dissolve and the black outs need to go much quicker than one second as one second is still too long. I have also realized that there are too many scenes/shots and therefore, when filming I will need to reduce the amount of them.

In todays lesson we have been told that if we think that we have finished all of the main research and planning tasks we can now start story boarding. However, I do not feel I am ready to jump straight into story boarding and therefore I want to take a closer look at the lyrics, so I have a rough idea of the start, the middle and the end of the video.
