LYRICS PROJECTIONS

THE LYRICS
These are my chosen images for each set of lyrics.

ONLY AIR

This image i love due to the lyrics matching the visuals. The lyrics say 'only air' and you can see the hair moving, it looks like the hair is being blown by wind.

This is quite simple, but thats why I like it. I think that it is quite simple due to the positioning of the girl, I am standing normally looking down. The looking down part could be compared to sadness, and not being able to face anyone/anything.

In this image you cannot see the artist face, this does not let the audience see the facial expressions/emotions. I believe that this image is interesting due to the dress being held up, which may show part of the artist trying to hold on to her self. However I am not very pleased about the fact that the face cannot be viewed.

In this case part of the face can be seen, however the emotions cannot be discovered. Once again the artist holding onto her dress may be a sign of part of her still hanging onto herself. The fact of her looking away could represent the fact that she does not want to look forwards and she is stuck in the present.

I like this image due to the artist walking away from the lyrics, which shows that she does not want to share air with herself as the lyrics say 'only air'. Even though you are unable to view her emotions you can tell that she is upset as she is walking away with her head down showing that she doesn't want to see anything/anyone.

THAT OLD BREATH

The positioning of the artist makes her look very protective over these words. This may mean that she still wants ti share her breath with herself meaning that she does not want to leave this world. The dark and moody face fits in well with the phase of her being protective over it.

This is quite simple but effective due to the facial features and the make up standing out within the photograph. I also like the fact of the shadow behind making her hair look huge, which sets a bigger mood of the not looking after herself, as she does not want to face her self in the mirror.

This photograph makes the artist look rather girly due t the way of her holding her dress from both sides. However, I quite like that as the lyrics mention the name 'old' which means that her positioning may represent the old her, as a child.

The positioning of the artist within this photograph makes her look like she has collapsed and that she is very weak. This reflects the lyrics due to them mentioning breath. However, the audience should be uncertain as the facial expression cannot be viewed.

Once again, the positioning of the girl makes her look like she has collapsed, however this time her facial expression can be viewed. She looks rather angry and moody, which may let the audience know that she is unhappy about collapsing.

ALL I PAIR OF

This looks a little bit creepy due to me looking like I am trying to eat the lyrics?

This I like due to the hair being all over the place, this shows movement within the photograph. However it hides the facial expressions which I am not a big fan of, as the audience cannot know how the artist is feeling.

As the facial expressions can be seen, a huge difference can be noticed due to it setting a very dark atmosphere. I like the positioning of this as the artist looks rather shy but relaxed. This may show that she is a bit lost between her emotions.

This my favorite out of the four due to movement being visible in the photograph as well as the expressions of the face. I love the fact of the rundown make up being very visible while the face is rather blurry, this means that even if the face cannot be seen properly some of the features open up the message.

TO A ROAD

The positioning of the artist looks like she is praying/begging for something to happen. I quite like the fact that you are unable to see her facial expression within this photograph due to the fact the lyrics including the word 'road', this may reflect to the fact of roads being a long way, which means that facial expressions would not be visible from far away.

This reminds me of the film 'Swan' due to the ballerina like foot. I quite like it as she the artist looks stiff, which may mean that she is chained to her self which means that she cannot get away from herself. This can be backed up by the shadow behind her, meaning the 'not getting away from her self'.

This is rather similar to the one above. However, in this case half of the body is stiff and half of the body is relax, showing mixed emotions. The shadow once again giving of a moody/dark atmosphere.

The positioning of this images, makes the artist look like she is going out of control. I quite like this position due to it being random and different from the others.

This position makes the artist look like she is about to collapse, holding onto her self. I like the fact of a little part of her face being visible, as it keeps this shot mysterious, talking about a road to where?

AS MY GOAD

The way that the artist is positioned within the frame makes her look like a little girl who has been punished by her parents. This is because she looks disappointed and she is fidgeting with her fingers.
This is one of my favorites due to the shadowing in the background. The shadow is much larger than the artist which may represent the fact that she cannot get away from her self. The facial expression goes well with the shadow due to it being very angry.
This is very similar to the one above, however, the lighting within the face makes the artist look more powerful and shows a ray of hope towards her.

This photograph makes the artist look happy. However, the shadow behind the artist once again shows that what ever the girl does the shadow is always going to be there.
I like this as the girl is actually brave enough to face her shadow. I is also interesting as the back of the dress is up, almost as a growing flower. The relationship between her and her shadow cannot be told due to the facial expression not being visible.

INTO

This is quite an interesting shot due to her looking up, almost as if she does not want to face her shadow which is in front of her.

In this image we see her hiding her face behind her hair, which shows us that she uses her self to hide from herself. This I believe that works well as this is not likely to happen in reality.

This shows the girl showing her face to the audience as if she would be saying look what I have be came. I love this image as the dark side of her is behind her and the hair pulled back opens the eyes of the audience. However the nice side of her cannot be seen through her rundown make up.

This image goes with the lyrics due to the artist acting as something is inside her head which is bothering her.
MY GRAVE

This is quite a different position, due to it looking that the artist does not know what to do with her self. Hence her arm is half way up?

This image lets the audience see the artist with attitude. She looks almost as if she is in a trop, and this may be because of her being unhappy about herself.
This reminds me of the clay dolls which people collect, or even the dolls with strings on them. I find it quite creepy, but I believe that the visuals go with the lyrics, this is because she is almost in a grave as she cannot deal with her self.
